aquarium 10 gallon kit
Help! Aquarium Fish Tank stinks, bad. Need help to start …?

Two days ago I received an aquarium kit 10 gallons of Walmart. 2 goldfish died, and there is left. My little apartment smells really bad. I emptied half the water. I will not use tap water, and I will not feed them both. Is there anything else I need to know or do?, I can not move very much. I have 7 pounds of rock that only covers the bottom, do I need more? Is it realistic to have this tank without a bad smell? I about to give up and return, but my cat is very entertaining, I have to maintain it. Please help. . .

I guess nobody bothered to answer the question here. The tank is bad smell due to a bloom of bacteria. Having fish is more than buying a tank and putting water and fish in it. Once the tank is installed, you need to run the filter and lights, as if there were fish in the tank. Also dechlor need for a water or air. Once the tank is running, from 1 week – 3, it will cycle. When a tank cycles, is the construction of good bacteria. This will keep the waste in the tank under control. here is good page to understand the cycling of your tank. http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/biologicalcycle/a/nitrogencycle.htm addition, no fish. The tank has to run on their own. You need a test kit to determine when the cycle is completed. Nitrogen, ammonia and PH. You can use tap water as you use your dechlor or water conditioner. When cleaning the tank, you need a gravel Siphone (Wally World for around $ 5) At this point you will have to drop out tank. The means through the cycle process once you see the water has cycled, and water tests are fine, you can get another fish. Goldfish do not require a heater. No change water rather this is another reason your tank is smelly. Just let it run will no longer smell. Besides, what kind of water used in the tank? Feel free to email or IM and I'll try to help further.

DIY Moon Light - Make Your Own!

DIY Moon Light – Make Your Own!

Aquarium owners have provided artificial sunlight for their tanks for many years.
