Acrylic painted objects in the aquarium?
Is it okay to put some glass or ceramic myself I painted with acrylic paints in an aquarium? I also have this man from the dollar store tiki labeled "Polystone" and painted I'm not sure.
No, not that particular Dollar Store Tiki Man. You must be sure that whatever you put in your fish tank is safe for fish, and the only way you can do is buy your decor from a pet store or a fishmonger. Not all ceramics and plastics are the same. Many leaching of hazardous metals and chemicals in the water, and no way to prove this. Things (I've seen designed for reptiles that it is not safe for aquariums, so be sure to read the labels, too, in the store pet.) Even things that are safe to eat outside not be safe if left to sit in water for an extended period of time. Please continue with the decoration Pet Store. It will say if it is safe to fish or not.
